IN CASE OF EMERGENCY: The "First Aid" app is the official app of the German Red Cross. It is the first interactive assistance app in an emergency situation.
Also good to know: With the free app "Help in the Forest," you can quickly find the nearest rescue points to guide fire brigade, police, or emergency services to the correct location in case of emergency.

Roadbook
The Schierenwald circular route is based on existing, marked paths of the Wanderverein Kreis Steinburg e. V., BUT our circular route and their paths are not 100% identical.
At the hiking car park, there is an overview board from the hiking club, showing that our circular route roughly corresponds to markings 3 and then 2. At this point, a decision must be made: do I follow the overview map (take a photo!) or do I follow the digital instructions on OutdoorActive?
Our route has no own markings and exists only as a GPS track. It is maintained by the Schierenwald forestry office, the hiking club, and the volunteer trail sponsors of the Aukrug Nature Park. Nevertheless, we advise always to have a hiking map handy.
The route initially runs on solid forest roads used by forestry vehicles in the managed part. Depending on whether trees are currently being felled or wood transported, the path may be somewhat uneven. Sometimes new gravel is laid, after which walking is difficult until everything is compacted again. The same applies to the agricultural roads in the fields.
In the enclosure, there are also some natural trails and fords. In wet weather and continuous rain, the crossing can be challenging. However, at each ford, there are also pedestrian bridges.
Public transport
The bus line 6181 (Lohbarbek - Hohenlockstedt, hvv.de) runs through Lockstedt but only operates as a school bus.Directions
Access is via the B206, B77, or B430. Lockstedt lies almost centrally between these main roads.Parking
The hiking car park at Schierenwald is near the Schierenwald forestry office, address Försterei Schierenwald 1. It is also suitable for minibuses. For coaches, the access routes should definitely be checked in advance.Coordinates
