Schaumberg Table Tour

Wonderful views, wild and romantic streams, idyllic forest landscapes – this interesting mixture is offered by the Schaumberg-Tafeltour, which has been awarded the status of a premium hiking trail. The hike – over the 569 m high Schaumberg, the &dquo;local mountain of the Saarland“, opens up wide views of the Hunsrück hills, – over the undulating Saar-Nahe mountains and into neighbouring France. Narrow earthy paths wind along its densely wooded, steep flanks. The Tafeltour winds its way through a wonderful landscape with lush vegetation that captivated Celts, Romans, knights and monks centuries ago. Worthwhile are detours to Tholey Abbey, which looks back on a history dating back to the 7th century, the Theulegium Museum and the Blasius Chapel with a 700-year history, which was built in its present form in 1716.
