Many visitors to Rügen know Schaprode only for its large parking lots, where they leave their cars to take the ferry to Hiddensee for a day trip. You can also take a scenic loop trail along the Bodden shore. Particularly charming is the path running along a flood protection dike through the Udarser Wiek Nature Reserve, whose siltation zone is part of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park. We now hike through flat farmland. Ten minutes past the house, a path on the left takes us to Rassower Bay, where another bench provides a nice resting spot from which you can look across the Rassower Strom to the Bug Peninsula and, to the west of it, the Hiddensee lighthouse. The path
