This family-friendly hike takes you across lush alpine meadows and an enchanting forest landscape, which offers many beautiful viewpoints.
The hike from Schalb to Moosalp is a fantastic route that is easily accessible by public transport. For the ascent to the Voralpe Schalb, you can take the breezy adventure train. The family-friendly hike begins at Schalb on the high-altitude trail via the Embder Alpe Pletschen. Here you are sure to find Hérens cows, which are summered there. Enjoy the fauna, flora and a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding mountains. On the Moosalp, you can treat yourself to a delicious lunch or a hearty "z'Abund" in one of the two mountain restaurants.

Travel in comfort on the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway from Visp to Kalpetran. From there, the journey continues by train to Embd, followed by the breezy adventure train to the Voralpe Schalb.The return journey is just as uncomplicated: From the Moosalpe, a bus takes you comfortably back to Visp.
