The large parking area at Tuones can be reached either by car or via the path which leads upwards from the Monte Maccione lodging establishment through the Su Punteddu canal. From the parking lot, head south and reach the bend at the first hairpin on the paved road, where you turn onto a forest road. An old sign here indicates the village of Daddana. After crossing a small clearing with beautiful views of the surrounding peaks, you reach the Daddana spring, which is the only one within several kilometers. A few meters later, on the left side, you reach a junction that continues uphill and away from the forest road. You turn onto this path and begin a gentle ascent under the oak forest. The mule track leads through a large part of the hike and at the most dangerous landslide-prone sections on the valley side it is regularly reinforced with tree trunks.
