Sanetsch-Muveran route stage 2: From Col du Sanetsch to Derborence
The second stage of the Sanetsch-Muveran route leads from Col du Sanetsch across the karst fields of the Lapis de Tsanfleuron to Derborence.
The path from the Sanetsch Pass through the glacier-sculpted karst fields of the Lapis de Tsanfleuron is an impressive experience. Shades of grey in all tones, only rarely colorful landscape elements: cotton grass, small ponds reflecting the blue sky, the most colorful still are the white-red-white trail markings. But soon the path leads again over lush green, flocks of sheep graze on the Alp at Chaux de Mie enclosed by steep walls, on the right rise the Diablerets and the distinctive Teufelskegel. Suddenly, you look into a wide valley basin, see deep below the Lac de Godey reservoir and a little further back the Lac de Derborence. "How on earth does one get down there?" many hikers probably wonder, the rocky barrier at Poteu des Etales seems insurmountable. A rope-secured passage equipped with ladders and artificial steps leads spectacularly through an impressive gorge. This challenging passage is the grand finale of this hiking day.
