This hike takes us to the central part of the Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, where water, wind and the dark rocky peaks of the Paine massif define the character of the tour. The starting point is at Pudeto; from there we follow a clearly recognizable path to Salto Grande and on to Mirador Cuernos . The Salto Grande is an impressive waterfall in the national park and is just a few minutes' walk from the parking lot. The water here connects the system of Lago Nordenskjöld and Lago Pehoé; depending on the wind, the spray and sound carry far across the path. After the waterfall, the landscape becomes more open. We hike through low Patagonian vegetation, over flat to slightly undulating sections and again and again with an unobstructed view of the Paine massif. Our destination, the Mirador Cuerno, lies opposite the striking rock formation of the Cuernos del Paine.
