Rottenacker is a small community with about 2100 inhabitants, located between Ehingen and Munderkingen on the Danube River. A probably practical but ugly concrete bridge cuts the town off from the Danube. However, once this masterpiece is left behind, you walk through the Danube floodplains and admire the water lily fields in the slow-moving river, and any skepticism soon disappears. On the way back, you are additionally rewarded with a wide view over the Danube Valley.
From the parking lot at the Rottenacker train station, we walk on the sidewalk past the hydropower plant of a cotton spinning mill built in 1895 to the new bridge. Between the Danube and the bridge, the wide, well-marked path begins, along the river we walk through a birch avenue at times. Where the asphalt surface ends, we turn right over the railway line and immediately afterwards left. The path leads in a wide right curve to the federal road, we cross it and walk 50 m to the left on a side path parallel to it.At the next opportunity, we turn right, then again and finally left (Ww. Tiefer Brunnen, Munderkingen). Going straight ahead, we reach the karst spring Tiefer Brunnen with a "teaching forest" and a recreation area, and then a junction. On the left is an outlying farm, we continue walking uphill straight ahead. Shortly afterwards there is a bench in the shade of a tree. Not only this scene is idyllic, but also the wide view from there into the Danube Valley. Here we turn right
