In the descriptions available to us, the route was indicated both counterclockwise and clockwise. I think we made the right choice with the direction of travel.
The start is in St. Zyprian. At the outskirts, there is a very nicely designed parking lot, right behind the playground parking. Toilets are also available. The path is very easy to find. Near the bridge, it goes along a trail and leads quickly uphill. The altitude meters can be quickly made, which remains until the Haniger Schwaige. The wayfinding is very easy, always towards Plafötschalm or Haniger Schwaige. After Plafötschalm, where you can eat dumplings very well, we briefly left the Sagenweg to avoid going through the cow pasture. The detour was only minor; the cows and our dog were certainly pleased with our decision.
There are always opportunities to vary the route. For our dog, there were many possibilities in the nearby brook to cool down or drink. This was possible at least at the end of June 2019. At Haniger Schwaige, we refreshed ourselves. A big compliment to the service and kitchen. Despite the rush, everything went very quickly and without stress. We really felt comfortable there. The further path leads for a long time between 1900 and 2000 meters until the highest point is overcome and then steadily goes downhill. Initially similarly steep as the ascent, it becomes flatter further on to the Nigerpass. Wayfinding is similarly easy as on the ascent, always towards Nigerpass or towards St. Zyprian or Tires. From Nigerpass it is also possible to return by bus. The last meters to the car can be taken on various variants. As an alternative to the trail, the flatter forest road can always be taken.
In Italy, dogs must be on a leash. This is regularly indicated on signs. Additionally, a muzzle must always be carried. Bags for droppings are of course provided.

Stop at one of the mountain huts. Allow enough time to enjoy the rock impressions.
