UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature

Always behave thoughtfully, kindly, and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way.

Respect nature, do not destroy plants, and always stay on the paths.

Remember a trash bag for the journey and take your rubbish back home.

Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

For your own safety, observe all path closures. Even on weekends.

Park only in designated parking spaces. Leave room for emergency routes and agricultural machinery.

Give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

    Safety information

Especially in autumn, attention should be paid to fallen leaves on the ground that can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees can still fall or branches break off afterwards. In adverse weather conditions, natural paths can be muddy and slippery. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you consider certain sections impassable, you should bypass them. Despite the “fail-safe” markings of premium hiking trails, we recommend always carrying a suitable hiking map for safety reasons so you can quickly find a safe area in case of storms or emergencies.

    NOTE:

We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work, hunting parties on this platform. Nevertheless, situations may arise where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you encounter closures or detours on site, please observe the instructions for your own safety.

    Roadbook

From the parking lot, past the kiosk with the "Wasgau SeenTour" marking onto the hiking trail through the Birkenfeld Leisure Park, partly along the barefoot path to the “Hinkelstein” on the south side of the Sägmühlweiher. Follow the same marking along the service road along the Sägmühlweiher and through quiet forests, past the east side of the cross-border “Adelsberg-Lutzelhardt Natural Forest”, to the Rösselsquelle. Continue with the same marking, past bizarre tree ruins and through a romantic forest landscape to the idyllic Rösselsweiher (partly a somewhat bumpy path between Rösselsquelle and Rösselsweiher).
Pass the dam by the pond to the service road. Now turn left without marking, approx. 350 m, on the service road to the junction of a service road on the right side. Then turn right onto the service road with the bicycle route marking “War and Peace Cycle Route”, continue until after about 500 m you reach a path junction on the left side with the “Wasgau SeenTour” marking. Follow this marking now on the service road to Ludwigswinkel and through the town to the Entenweiher at the edge of town. Turn left here and follow the “Felsenland Sagenweg” marking to the parking lot/kiosk in Birkenfeld Leisure Park.
