We start our approx. 4.5 km hike in the center of Rödelsee and at first walk along the main road towards Wiesenbronn. We reach the Schwanbergweg turnoff on the right and follow this concrete path always uphill between windbreak strips and vineyards. At the last crossroads before the forest edge and the hermitage, turn right, following the R2 signs first downhill slightly, then somewhat steeper uphill. We reach the lookout pavilion and can enjoy the beautiful view over Rödelsee with the Küchenmeister vineyard, Kitzingen, and the Franconian mainland behind. From here, we first walk back, our path leads down the concrete path again, then turns left to the Küchenmeister hut. The path passes the hut directly towards Rödelsee and the village center.
