Rifugio Vandelli
The Sorapiss bowl (Circo di Sorapiss), semicircled by massive walls, is one of the attractions of Misurina. In the middle of this magnificent rocky arena stands the much-visited and welcoming Rifugio Vandelli. The access from the Tre Croci Pass to it is entertaining and rich in beautiful landscapes. At the small Lago di Sorapiss, located in the immediate vicinity of the hut, a rest break is recommended – to let the overwhelming wall phalanx of Sorapiss, Tre Sorelle, and Dito di Dio (God's finger) take effect!
From the Tre Croci Pass, take State Road No. 48 for 200 m east towards Misurina to a right turnoff of a cart track. Follow this marked No. 215 first over meadows, then gently downhill in the coniferous forest to the end of the wide path at a steep wall (war fortifications). On a trail, go around the P. 1984 m to the right into a small valley (lowest point), which bends to the left. Through forest uphill to the saddle, 1782 m, between Cime di Malquòira (also: Marcoira) and Col Cucco. Southeastwards continue evenly through the forest, later steeper under a black rocky tower and along larch slopes to a flattening.The path turns right (south) towards the Val Sorapiss. Along the steep rock faces of Cime del Laudo, later right in switchbacks (iron stairs) upwards and after an exposed traverse (wire ropes) to gentler terrain again. Now upwards through bushes and open forest into the Sorapiss bowl, right turnoff of path No. 216, where soon its highlight, the daring tower of Dito di Dio,
