Rifugio Scotter, San Marco, Galassi
For friends of scenic mountain huts, there are several attractive destinations around San Vito. On the eastern side of the valley, the huts Scotter, Galassi, and San Marco can be visited without much effort along the beautiful hiking trail. A special "hat" goes to Rifugio San Marco, not only for the food and cozy atmosphere but also for its location and surroundings. With the flat-armored Antelao within reach and the rocky dominance of Pelmo opposite, you feel like you are on a natural box seat created by nature. Intoxicated with scenic bliss, one almost forgets the time and overlooks that everything on this beautiful earth is transient!
From Rif. Scotter, follow the gravel road (trail no. 226) upward northwest in a hairpin turn to the road's end before a debris chute, which is crossed. Now through the forest westward in steep switchbacks, later ascending a ridge to the right up to the shoulder of Col da chi da Os with Rif. San Marco, 1823 m. Take trail no. 227 northeast through the forest level to the larch-covered scree slopes below Cima Belpra and Cima Scotter. Initially in switchbacks, then in a long traverse uphill to the right junction of trail no. 229. From there straight ahead and now steeper uphill into a high valley divided by a rock spur. Ascend the left arm to a fork. Turn right and go around the spur, then ascend an easy 5 m wall to the crest Becchi d’Imposponda. Turn left on its south side and ascend there to Forc. Piccola, 2120 m. Beyond, descend through a green hollow towards Val d’Oten to Rif. Galassi, 2018 m.For the return, go back to the left junction of trail no. 229. Descend in switchbacks
