UFFBASSE! – Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
Fire & Smoking – Making fire, smoking, and grilling are strictly prohibited in the forest and must be avoided at all costs! Fires and thus great damage to nature and wildlife can be avoided only this way.
Travel considerately – Always behave cautiously, friendly, and considerately toward all those you meet on the way.
Nature conservation – Stay on the designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest at twilight at the latest to avoid disturbing the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
Picnic & trash – Remember a trash bag for the way and take your waste back home with you. Use only furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
Dogs on leash – Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

Tips and suggestions
The name Bankräuber-Tour (Bench Robber Tour) originated from a working group of the local heritage association 1998 e.V Rieschweiler-Mühlbach, who refurbished the benches in the community. Observant citizens noticed that benches seemed to disappear overnight. It quickly spread that busy spirits were the 'robbers' who repaired, painted, or even renewed the benches. The Bankräuber project now includes around one hundred benches, making it obvious to connect the benches through hiking routes. True to the motto "one good idea attracts the next," the hiking network 'Bankräuber-Touren' was created in Rieschweiler Mühlbach with 7 hiking routes focusing on different themes. The 'Sellemols' campaign with its rural scenes, captured on large photos at over 70 former farms, can be found in both districts. A special guide with explanations is available from the heritage association.
Roadbook
The starting point is Rieschweiler train station. You cross the bridge over the Schwarzbach and walk through Bahnhofstraße with some shops to the town center. At the roundabout, turn right onto Hauptstraße direction Thaleischweiler-Fröschen. Along the way, you encounter several large photos from the 'Sellemols' campaign, depicting rural scenes from the past, mounted on former farmhouses. At the next street, turn left uphill into Maßweilerstraße. At the following street, turn into Straße Am Dorfberg. The street turns into a paved field path where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. Follow the paved path to an orchard with a large insect hotel, created by the Heinrich Kimmle Foundation. On a log bench from the Rieschweiler local heritage association, you can enjoy another wonderful wide view. Take the next meadow path to the right and reach L 466, cross it and walk on the paved field path opposite to the second junction on the right. This meadow path runs behind the last row of houses of Mittelberg and also offers a splendid view. The path ends at a crossroads. Take the right paved path downhill toward the town. Before, you can make a detour straight ahead to an original one-seater tree bench. Going downhill on Mittelbergstraße you pass Tulpenstraße with a small community park at the junction. Then turn into the next street, Rosenstraße. At the end of the street, you have a very nice view of Rieschweiler's town center. Via a narrow path, you reach Blumenstraße and after a few meters downhill, the main street. Turn left and continue toward Thaleischweiler-Fröschen. After four hundred meters, you reach the 'Heart Bench', an initiative of the local heritage association. Painted hearts can be attached to a giant heart. Opposite, Blumen-Cafe Franke invites you to stop. Continue toward the town’s edge, passing the sports facilities of the 1920 e.V. gymnastic club and the tennis club grounds. On the sidewalk, proceed to the Pirminius bike and hiking trail (Hornbach – Hauenstein / 60 km). Cross L 477 at 'Pferdinand', a life-sized metal horse with old farming tools, and head toward Schwarzbach. Passing the boule club with its hardcourt and several rest benches, you reach a wooden bridge. After crossing Schwarzbach, you enter Straße In der Sperr after a few hundred meters, returning to the starting point of the route at Rieschweiler train station.
