Tips and suggestions
The name Bankräuber-Tour (Bench Robber Tour) originated from a working group of the Heimatverein 1998 e.V. Rieschweiler-Mühlbach, who restored the benches in the community. Attentive citizens had noticed that benches were disappearing almost overnight. It quickly became known that busy spirits were the robbers to repair, paint, or even renew the benches. The Bankräuber project now comprises around one hundred benches, so it was obvious to connect the benches via hiking routes. True to the motto "one good idea leads to the next good idea," the hiking trail network "Bankräuber-Touren" in Rieschweiler Mühlbach was created with 7 hiking routes and different focuses. The "Sellemols" action with its rural scenes, captured on large photos on over 70 former farms, can be found in both districts. A separate guide with explanations is available from the Heimatverein.

Roadbook
The starting point is the Rieschweiler station. The circular route begins in An der Sperr street on the Pirminius cycle and hiking trail (Hornbach – Hauenstein / 60 km) heading towards Thaleischweiler-Fröschen. Passing the last houses in this street, you reach a sharp left turn leading to a wooden bridge where you cross the Schwarzbach. Up to the end of the cycle path, six benches invite you to rest. The first bench offers a nice view back to the center of Rieschweiler. Further benches follow along the cycle path past the gymnastics club with its managed clubhouse, the tennis club with 3 courts, and the boule club with its hard court. After a sharp right turn, you encounter a large metal horse surrounded by old farming equipment. Here you leave the cycle path, cross the L477, and follow the ascent to the SG Rieschweiler sports facility. After the club area with the SG Rieschweiler clubhouse and artificial turf field, you pass by the "Thick Oak" natural monument, the dog club training area, and the village sports field. From here you can see the Westpfalz golf course. The paved path continues left past the golf course, turns into a meadow path, and ends at the forest. Now it goes downhill to the left to the next intersection. To the fitness trail of the gymnastics club with 18 stations, turn right. You now walk parallel to the Sulzgraben on the left side until a hairpin bend where you switch sides and have the Sulzgraben with the Sulzbach in the flow direction again on the left side. Looking down into the ditch, you can see and hear the idyllic little creek splashing over rocks and stones, tree trunks, and bends. After a few meters, you reach the Trillerfels natural monument to which a narrow path leads down. Over the years, water has drilled a hole through the rock and swirls as a small waterfall into the depths. After this detour, continue downhill to a large intersection. At a seating area, you can play a small Tic-Tac-Toe game or simply enjoy the beautiful nature and bird song. Continue left along the brook. With some luck, you might even observe the kingfisher here. At the end of the beautiful watercourse, you return to a residential area leading to the main street. Turn right and arrive at the Heart Bench. Here you can immortalize yourself on a large wall with a painted heart. Continue along the main street past several large photos with information boards showing rural scenes from the past, attached to former farms, the "Sellemols" action of the Heimatverein. In the town center at the roundabout, you can use the bookcase and then turn into Bahnhofstraße, the shopping street of Rieschweiler. There are several places to eat here before you return to the station with its beautiful fountain square.
