Riedbergerhorn and Wannenkopf

The Riedberg Pass road conveniently leads to a comfortable starting altitude in the Grasgehren ski area to climb the surrounding mountains without much effort. As the highest summit of the Hörner Group, the Riedbergerhorn offers a fantastic view of the mountains of the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park and the high alpine world of the Allgäu Alps. To the north rises the Nagelfluhkette with the 1,834-meter-high Hochgrat above the Gunzesrieder valley, to the southeast you look at the 1,665-meter-high Besler. To the south soar the imposing Gottesacker walls and the 2,229-meter-high Ifen. And to the west on clear days the view extends over the Bregenzerwald to the Swiss mountains. Around the Riedbergerhorn, black grouse find an ideal habitat; therefore, some areas have access restrictions in winter. In spring, the slopes present a true sea of blossoms, and in autumn the summit areas of the Geiherkopf bear plenty of blueberries.
