Author’s recommendation
You really shouldn't miss the cable ferry, which you have to operate yourself. But then you either have to shorten the route or walk it as a figure 8 (and possibly use the ferry twice).
Depending on time and fitness, you can also connect the route with a round around Leukemeer.

This route around Reindersmeer is marked with red markers, mostly posts.Roadbook
The starting point is the visitor center. From there you simply follow the red markers, mostly posts. On my visit, I turned left around the playground and first crossed the boardwalk. This led me mainly through the somewhat deeper sand on the first part. In between, however, the path is also sometimes a bit firmer and therefore very easy to walk.
After just under 3.5 km, you could shorten the route and cross with the cable ferry (which you have to operate yourself).
Shortly after, the hiking trail meets the paved but not asphalted cycle path but soon turns off again, so you walk on sandy paths above the lakeshore past some ponds.
Soon, however, there is quite a stretch of path shared with cyclists. Eventually, you reach the forest playground and immediately afterwards the visitor center again.
Next time, I will walk the route the other way around. That way, you have the nicer and also quieter part through the deeper sand towards the end. Let's see if I like it even better then.
