The Rappenspitze forms the western end of the ridge, which reaches its most striking expression at the Stanser Joch. The first part of the proposed ascent here can also be the start of an extremely scenic ridge hike along the Stanser-Joch ridge.
From the Alpengasthof Falzturn, first follow the path into the Gramai and then continue ascending towards the Lamsenjoch hut until a distinctive trail marker. Keep left here, initially through dwarf pines and later upwards through the scree slope. The further ascent follows well-marked path along the right side of a stream channel until we reach the Lunstsattel by turning left and ascending more steeply through dwarf pines and larch forests. At a signpost, we cross eastwards on gentle ups and downs along the southern slope of the Lunstkopf to the Rizuelhals.In the broad saddle, head north and descend over the wide path to the Naudersalm huts at 1869 m.To the right, the ridge trail leads to the Stanser Joch, but we go left up to the Kaserjoch, a saddle between the Kaserjochspitze, 2198 m, and the Rappenspitze.
