The Radebeule (Radobýl) mountain rises prominently to the west of the town of Litoměřice. Its steep, dry grassy slopes and the vertical, rocky west face are home to rare steppe grasses and heat-loving herbaceous plants such as the yellow-flowering ground hogweed or the parasitic purple summer orchid. From April to July in particular, hikers will encounter a colorful sea of flowers here. The uniquely shaped basalt columns exposed in the former quarry are one of a kind. The summit cross, visible from afar, offers an excellent 360° panorama. At our feet lies the Central Bohemian Plain with the Elbe floodplain, the town of Litoměřice and the large Lake Žernosecké jezero, with the mountains of the Central Bohemian Uplands rising up next to it. This tour proposal combines various natural areas shaped by man into a hike that is interesting in many respects, taking us from the banks of the Elbe up to the quarries of the Radebeule and the limestone-rich hills near Knobloška. The entertaining descent along the vineyards down to Lake Chernosek, which is an inviting place to swim in the warmer months, rounds off a day of hiking with great views.
From the entrance to the Píšťany campsite, walk back to the village road and turn left. After 100 m, turn right into a road, walk down to the Elbe and turn left along the riverside path upstream. After the railroad bridge, we follow the embankment to the left. At the road, we turn right to the level crossing and turn right into a narrow road before it. At the second underpass, we turn left, walk straight up to the main road, turn left a few meters and cross the road. We come across the yellow line markings that will guide us to the summit. We walk up a small side road and keep left after the railroad line. The path now climbs steeply up towards Radobýl. After just under half an hour, we suddenly find ourselves at the bottom of the quarry. This is where the nature reserve begins. Above us rises the high dark rock face with bizarrely shaped, strong basalt columns. We leave the meadow area to the left and shortly afterwards stand at the signpost "Radobýl (Odb.)".
