Through the forest south of Theinheim and over the Taubenherd with a beautiful view back.
From the Theinheim church, go down to the main road, a short distance to the left, and then a short stretch along the road to Koppenwind. Shortly after crossing the Rauhe Ebrach, the route turns left onto a dirt road, which goes uphill straight ahead with a beautiful view back to the village. A detour to the natural monument of the approximately 350-year-old Kilian oak shortly before the forest, on the left, above Falsbrunn, is recommended. Back on the main path, you pass a wayside shrine until the path leads into the forest. On a forest road, you continue for quite a while until the trail marking sharply guides you down to the right into a stream valley. After a short crossing, it goes up on the other side to another forest road, over which you soon reach some horse paddocks. Passing them, you walk down into the Erlenbach valley and up through fields on the other side to a small forest at Taubenherd. From here, you can first enjoy a wonderful distant view on a panoramic swing across the Bamberg region, and then the view over the Rauhe Ebrach valley before going back down into it again to Theinheim. Here, it is finally worth taking a look inside the St. Barbara church with its beautiful baroque interior decoration.
