This is a 14km return hike with steep climb and return descend. The hike is relatively exposed especially to sun during hot days with magnificent views along the way and at the top. There is last chance of water and light snacks in a simple snack cafe at around 3,4km in.

    Author’s recommendation

In summer months bring a lots of water and snacks with you. The lake after Qafa e Pejes ridge unfortunately didn’t feel like it’s suitable for swimming to cool down so an early morning start to avoid heat and a hat/cap is recommended.

    Public transport

    Public-transport-friendly

Buses run only to Theth and we have seen hitchhiking along the road but “mountain taxi” exists if you don’t want to prolong the hike.

    Directions

Drive 5 mins from Theth along a dust road (appears there are plans to pave it soon) and park up on parking next to a kiosk. Walking path from Theth making hike longer is also an option.

    Parking

Next to a kiosk at starting point (2-3 euros a day).
