From Pottschach train station, go up Pottschacher Street to the junction to Buchbach. We are already on the green-marked path that will accompany us for most of the route. We follow the path to Buchbach. We are still on the paved road. The forestry road Holzweg is also paved. At the chapel, we finally reach a forest path. Continue to follow the green marking. Those who look closely will soon see the first chestnuts lying in the meadow. A forestry road crosses, the marking turns left. Out of curiosity, we chose the path into the Saubachgraben down to the stream and then climbed back up to Tannschach. Here, we had the impression of being in true wilderness. On hot summer days, the ravine surely offers wonderful coolness. Arriving at the forest edge at Tannschach, we then discover on the left a huge sweet chestnut tree and a real "chestnut row." Not only the trees but also the buildings are worth seeing. The path now leads along the paved forestry road to Gut Gasteil with its art objects. Then it goes over the stations of the cross to Prigglitz.
Return to the train or to Pottschach, for example, via the hiking trails to Gloggnitz or Schlöglmühl.
