Start/end near the Tourist Office. It will allow access to places with the best panoramic views over Óbidos and the Atlantic line.
In the initial phase we follow the Usseira Aqueduct, passing by the Arcos School Complex and Sports Complex, climbing through the Vale Escuro, passing through a lesser-known section of the aqueduct. We continue the ascent through agricultural paths, across large areas of the typical orchards of the region (pear, apple, plum, peach). In the highest area we obtain breathtaking views of Óbidos, Várzeas da Rainha, Atlantic, Berlengas, Óbidos Lagoon, Bom Sucesso, Caldas da Rainha, and São Martinho do Porto. On the descent, near the old chapel of São Bento - Capeleira, we have the best view of the castle and medieval burgh. From there we continue descending to Qta do Soito (18th century), towards the town. In the town, we pass by the Chapel of N.º Sr.º de Monserrate, Chafariz Novo, climbing up to the Porta de N.º Sr.º da Graça. Following and surrounding the northern wall, we then reach the western slope of the castle hill, location of the oldest church in Óbidos, the hermitage of N.º Sr.º do Carmo or São João do Mocharro, where we have splendid views over the Várzeas da Rainha and the Hermitage of St. Antão. We traverse the castle slope through the Vila Park, with magnificent views of the extensive western wall and finish by climbing towards the Torre do Facho, at the southern edge of the castle. It connects with Vial de Óbidos, Vila Park, Sports Complex Circuit, and Aqueduct Route.
