    Roadbook

The Eugénio de Andrade Path follows a route that circles the village of Póvoa de Atalaia. Heading east, the path crosses the shaded churchyard of the Parish Church dedicated to the Martyr Saint Stephen. Further ahead, on the left, it is possible to see the white walls of the "Place of the House," situated next to the house where the poet was born. The route then leaves the village accompanied by the smell of earth, straw, gardens, the sound of crickets and birds, where the immense Gardunha Mountain range dominates the horizon. On the return to "Póvoa," one crosses an old bridge, which tradition says is Roman, then continues to the Chapel of São Sebastião. Then it descends to the left bank of the Azenha stream, following a levada. The route continues crossing brushwood, trees, and rocks until the starting point.
