Helmets are really better with falling rocks.
On my last climb, a person was hit by a stone dislodged by a hiker, resulting in evacuation by helicopter.
Vibram sole is definitely better than sneakers .......
Tips and suggestions
Follow the red marks carefully after the refuge to avoid inconveniences.Roadbook
From the refuge, follow the red and yellow marks on the lapiaz and blocks above the refuge which go left towards a large scree slope where a snowfield remains, shrinking day by day. The descent can be made by the same route or through the chimneys towards the Col des Verts.
GPS coordinates (WGS 84) of the start: 45.970172, 6.524120
Ascent:
From the chalets of Col des Annes, take the signposted path towards the Refuge de Gramusset and the Col de l’Ouletaz. After some switchbacks, you reach the top station of the Tête des Annes chairlift. Then follow the pleasant trail that rises between bushes to reach the ridge which must be followed up to the Col de l’Oulettaz.
Then, a short stretch of quite steep descent equipped with chains leads to the first rocks. The path then becomes steeper and a bit more technical. The roof of the refuge becomes visible and it takes about twenty minutes to reach it.
After a break and a stop at the refuge, comes the moment to choose the route. To the left, the majestic Pointe Percée towers over the large scree slope to the right leading to the Col des Verts overlooked by the peak of the same name.
Ascent of Pointe Percée
Follow the red and yellow marks on the lapiaz and blocks above the refuge heading left towards a large scree slope where a late snowfield remains. Beware of the fluorescent pink marks not to follow and sometimes painted over the red marks. After about fifteen minutes of climbing through this maze of blocks, a short steep section allows you to reach the bottom of the scree slope. You must cross it to reach a small rock barrier at the foot of a snowfield. The ascent then continues to the left after crossing this barrier. Make sure to follow the red markers which line the route throughout the progress. After passing several cracks and more or less airy steep sections, a chimney leads to the airy ridge. A wide gap to cross allows you to reach the summit cairn. The descent can be done by the same route or via the col.
