Hello Everyone,
Val Veny as well as Val Ferret are certainly two of the most visited places in the Aosta Valley, and it is better to explore them off-season to avoid large tourist crowds.
Autumn is the ideal season for this, with a serene atmosphere, the absence of snow which facilitates progress in exposed passages, and a mountain freed from crowds.
Wonderful loop this morning with 3 summits (Fortin, Chavannes, Charmonts) crossed, and 3 passes traversed (Berrio Blanc, Charmonts, Youla), always under the influence of this spectacular Italian side of Mont Blanc, with the fabulous satellites that are the Rouge, Noire, and Blanche de Peuterey needles.
Only downside, the observation of the great suffering of the glaciers that day by day decrease sharply with, for a September 17, a 0° isotherm around 4000m, despite this the images of these emblematic summits remain long in our minds….
To be continued…..
