Route hike at the Thuringian Sea:
The hike starts in Pößneck at the upper station and leads you out of the Orlasenke valley up to the splendidly glowing red Baroque Castle Brandenstein and to Ranis Castle. You cross the forest area Ratsholz near Seebach and reach, after the small village Peuschen, the ponds at the inn Zur Bankschenke and the Anger village Knau with manor park. The "Land of a Thousand Ponds", the nature reserve Plothen-Debraer ponds, is reached, and along Fürsten-, Haus-, and Neuer Teich you come to the well-known stilt house near Plothen. Unfortunately, there is no train connection in Plothen, return travel by bus (via Knau or Schleiz) or overnight stay.
