The natural spectacle of the Poço do Inferno is the highlight of this short hike. However, very few visitors get to explore the cliffs above the riverbeds. In addition to the waterfalls, this short loop hike offers an exciting hiking experience.
From the parking lot, a paved road leads directly to the natural wonder of Poço do Inferno, about 300 meters away. However, we’ll start by taking a short loop hike. Across from the parking lot, a narrow, rocky trail leads uphill and quickly gains elevation. Then we cross a stream via a small bridge. We pass a dilapidated stone house (on the left) and follow a path bordered on the right by a stone wall through the pine forest. Then we must turn left onto a gravel road (watch for the trail markers) and follow it briefly to the right before turning left again onto an asphalt road. There, we take the trail signposted “Poço do Inferno, 980 m” to Poço do Inferno (see also the “Wild Boar Trail
