The hike follows the former inner-German border and is punctuated by three towers of very different provenance: From the edge of the western slope at the Plesse Tower, there are great views to the south, the border troops' control tower on Katharinenberg reminds of the existence of the »Iron Curtain«, and the oldest tower on the hike belongs to the ruins of the pilgrimage church of St. Katharina, which was consecrated in the 13th century.

After a short descent, we reach a junction at the edge of the forest, where we continue straight ahead uphill on a forest road. Sabine Gilcher
