Plesbos Walk

A name I give to this self-planned walking route with node points. The choice of the name becomes clear after a brief explanation from me. The walk starts with an inviting view over wide fields and charming country roads. The landscape is typically Flemish, with a harmony of fields, meadows, and small forest plots alternating. Along the route, you will encounter old pollard willows, whose gnarled shapes evoke a nostalgic atmosphere. You delve deeper into the greenery. Here, small streams and ditches surprise you. About halfway through the walk between nodes 17 and 14, Plesbosweg takes you to Geiverbos and Eekbos. "Ples," probably derived from an old word for "pond," could refer to a water pond or marshy area in the vicinity. Let that now be the guide for this walk after heavy rainfall. Everywhere you find large puddles and/or flooded paths/field lanes because the streams can no longer hold their water. It makes for an adventurous and beautiful walk during which your shoes/feet won't stay dry.
