Our tour first takes us from the Sommeralm to Bründlalm and over the Siebenkögel to the Stoahandhütte. Then we cross to Haberlstall-Alm and ascend the Rohregg (Zechnerschlag) before, as the crowning glory, heading over small-structured hummocky meadows and pseudo-alpine, lush lawns to Plankogel. At the completely free-standing summit cross in the large, treeless summit area, we turn around in amazement 360 degrees – or more – to take in the magnificent panorama that vividly showcases the surrounding alpine pastures and the species-rich structured mountain landscape.
At the Windrad rest area, 1407 m, the signpost »7 Kögerl-Weg/Gh. Holzmeister« (Path No. 45) clarifies which direction we should start. After a few meters on the street, we turn left at Gasthof Derler, 1404 m, and reach – immediately before the Sommeralm chapel – a forest road, where we go left to reach the beautiful Bründlalm. From there the idyllic path leads right past the distinctive weather crosses through the pasture area to the mountain station of the Pirstingerkogel lift. Then it continues over the Siebenkögel – with a good view of the Osser –; this section of the path is particularly picturesque as it is repeatedly interrupted by small saddles, forest islands, Norway maples, and fence passages. At the Schwoabauerkreuz, 1249 m, we keep half right to reach the beautiful valley floor that stretches between the forests in the Saugraben. After the wooden bridge over the young Mixnitzbach, we arrive at the (closed) Gasthaus Holzmeister, 1220 m, where we briefly turn right on the
