The Planet Path is a special type of hiking trail, as the hiking route proportionally represents a scaled-down version of our solar system. The path we chose is 6.6 km long and thus shows our solar system at a scale of 1:681 million.
During the hike, you will learn interesting facts about the planets, get a sense of how differently sized the individual planets are, and understand the actual distances between the planets. Last but not least, you will also enjoy a hike through our beautiful landscapes.
The path begins at the Bürgergarten Gildehaus, which is located at the end of a small slope next to the Ostmühle Gildehaus. Please pay attention to the markings on the map here.
From there, the path starts with a small staircase ascent toward the sun.
Following the footpath from there, you will pass Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.
At the end of the Bürgergarten, you walk along the Sieringhoeker Weg and then see Jupiter and later Saturn.
At the large junction, keep slightly to the left and follow the footpath until you turn right toward the village community center.
