Plätzwiese Mountain Inn – Passo Tre Croci – Dolomites High Trail No. 3
3!▶ From the Plätzwiese 01 mountain inn (2,000 m), we follow Hiking Trail 18 southward, crossing alpine meadows toward Im Gemärk. To our right, the 3,146 m Hohe Gaisl (Croda Rossa) rises up. Behind a solitary hut, the trail forks, and we continue on Hiking Trail 18, crossing a small bridge and following a path. We descend through the Knappen-fußtal valley and, at the fork, take Trail 18A toward the bus stop. Next, we cross another dry riverbed, veering slightly to the right, to reach the continuing trail on the opposite bank.Shortly before reaching the road, we pass a spring. On the opposite side of the road at the 1,530-meter-high Passo di Cimabanche (Im Gemärk) is the small Cimabanche restaurant and a bus stop. For the next 3.8 km, we follow the bike path on the left side of the road to Ospitale d’Ampezzo 02 (1,484 m). Where a trail branches off to the right toward the restaurant and Rifugio Ospitale, we take hiking trail 203 to the left, descending to the stream. We cross the bridge
