The intense challenge of the PIUT begins in Kappl and extends from there over 50 km and 3,100 meters of elevation gain to Galtür and Ischgl. The first section runs backward on parts of stage 7 of the Paznaun Höhenweg and passes the Diasalpe and Niederelbehütte. On the southern side of the valley, it continues over the Innerbergli and Außerbergli to Galtür, then the last section leisurely leads along the valley path to Ischgl. This run offers an intense challenge through the picturesque and varied alpine landscape of the Paznaun and requires both physical and mental endurance.
