Philosopher's Path

By car to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Parking available in the underground garage at Badgasse. After a short climb via Sonnenbergstraße, you reach the Floriansbrunnen. Then turn left into Prof.-Michael-Sachs-Straße and at the end turn left again. Follow Brunnhäuslweg to the Philosopher's Path (signposted). From here it is level until the Schützenhaus. A short detour to the pilgrimage chapel St. Anton located a little higher up is worthwhile. Then cross the street and walk left past the Schützenhaus inn, mostly gently downhill and then finally briefly uphill over Schweinsbichl to Farchant. The path partly leads through shaded mountain forest, occasionally with open views of the surrounding mountains. For the return trip, you can take the same route or take the local bus from the center of Farchant back to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Cleared in winter and particularly attractive.
