A route with a brisk climb of about 8 km in length, which unites the idyllic Pfänderbach Valley as the core zone of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve with the fields of Ohligberg and the excavations of the Roman Museum. The hike is well suited for active families as well as experienced hikers.
The Pfänderbach Valley Loop is a moderately difficult hiking trail with some highlights, with the Ski and Hiking Hut Einöd as a perfect refreshment stop. The route often runs over paved and gravel roads. At the start of the loop, it leads directly onto the natural path into the idyllic Pfänderbach Valley. Then follows the only ascent on the route, which leads to the mountain farms in Einöd. Here are many horses, as well as the family of Hans Pick living in their oil mill. Fittingly, the Ohligberg would more likely be called "Oil Mountain," since Hans up here exchanged the "head-sized gold nugget," as described in the fairy tale, for oilseeds of all kinds that thrive splendidly in the surrounding fields. Camelina oil, mustard oil, milk thistle oil, rapeseed oil, poppy oil, or hemp oil are offered in the farm shop. After the mountain farms, the hiking trail goes back through the forest to Homburg-Schwarzenacker and passes the excavations of the Roman Museum back to the Ski and Hiking Hut Einöd. Here there is a great resting opportunity when the hut is open.

Roadbook
The starting point of this route is the parking lot of the Ski and Hiking Hut in Einöd. From there, the loop begins into the famous Pfänderbach Valley, always idyllically along the Pfänderbach until the hiking trail leads onto the paved "Schlangenhöhler Weg." This path is followed only briefly until the route turns right again into the forest leading to the source of the Pfänderbach. Once there, go left to the next junction. At this point, the path turns right towards the mountain farms in Einöd. Upon reaching the top, the loop then follows a longer section of a paved field path until it sharply turns left back into the forest. There, the route winds through the woodland and shortly reaches the hidden source of the Schorrenwaldbach. The forest section ends at Andenkellerhof and turns left onto "Andenkellerhofstraße." The path follows this road until the second junction, where it turns left into "Marienstraße" until it arrives at the street "Am Edelhaus" behind the Römermuseum Homburg-Schwarzenacker. From there, go left and immediately right again. In just a few hundred meters, the Ski and Hiking Hut is reached again.
