Safety information
The hiking trail has no technical difficulties. However, in the upper section, where the slopes become steeper, it is strongly recommended not to leave the marked path, as the terrain can be slippery due to the gradient.Tips and suggestions

From this point to the Lafetz Alm, the path is clearly marked and hardly to be missed. From the alm, continue uphill on Route No. 19 to a junction at 2,120 m, where the signage indicates our high-altitude trail number 22.
From here, follow the now clear path to the Penaud Alm. First, you reach the Geigerkofel at 2,400 m. Afterwards, you hike over the ridge that separates the two valleys, up to about 2,650 m elevation, where the path changes to a traverse below the ridge. After reaching the highest point of the tour, the descent to the Penaud Alm begins.
From the Penaud Alm, take Route No. 20, which leads down to Karthaus on an easy forest road. Just above the village, at about 1,470 m, leave the road and follow a trail that shortens the last section into the village.

Equipment
Good equipment clearly makes a difference. Sturdy mountain boots, weatherproof clothing for rain and cold, as well as sufficient drinks and provisions are recommended. Do not forget that you are in the Alps – anything is possible here, even in the middle of summer.Localization
