From the market square, we walk right along Aulendorfer Straße until we reach the district of Lufthütte. On field, meadow, and forest paths, it goes to the Schwaigfurter Weiher, which is fed by the Schussen. Over the district road, you reach a ford along the renatured Schussen. This can be crossed on stepping stones or a small bridge. A field path leads to the village of Otterswang. Here, a visit to the magnificently decorated late Baroque St. Oswald church is worthwhile.
Continuing through the village and after a short section on Hopferbacher Straße, the path branches off to the right. Through the forest along the source area of the Finsterbach, you reach the Zeller See. This is a "dead ice hole," formed in the last ice age when a large block of ice broke off at the edge of the glacier, leaving a hollow in the terrain. You reach the starting point via the Bürgerpark and past the town hall.
