Pass da Costainas, 2251 m
Today, the Pass da Costainas only has touristic significance. In earlier times, it was an important passage to S-charl and beyond to Scuol, thus from the Münstertal to the Inntal. Returning from S-charl is somewhat cumbersome, so we lead the route back to Lü via the Fuorcla Sassalba (highest point). Those traveling with children can, of course, also return from the Pass da Costainas along the ascent path to Lü (1.15 hours) and make a short detour to Alp Champatsch, 2087 m, with the restaurant la Posa.
From the parking lot at the entrance to Lü through the village and – with beautiful views and glimpses to the south – on an alpine road to a junction at 2093 m, where we continue to follow the rough driving path. It runs – steep at one point – to the wide Pass da Costainas. From the pass summit with a slight descent to the right and over a steeper step up to the Costainas plateau. With slight altitude gain over the plateau, then flanked on both sides by rock cliffs over a short steep step into the Fuorcla Sassalba. From the saddle, then descend via the sunny slope to Alp Tabladatsch and further to Alp Valmorain. Finally, return by a driving path to the starting point in Lü.
