Partisan bunkers above Valčianska dolina

The route leading from the parking lot at the Snowland ski resort takes you after about half an hour’s walk on an asphalt road to the mouth of the Šindelná valley. You cannot miss the clearly marked turn to the bunkers with the yellow tourist mark. After a steep ascent through dense forest terrain, you reach a clearing at two partisan bunkers. Thanks to the care of volunteers, they look approximately the same as in 1944 when partisans slept here.

We recommend continuing along the yellow tourist mark, which leads you above the ski resort to the summit called Pivnica. From there, you can enjoy the beauties of the Turčianska záhradka and the opposing slopes of the Veľká Fatra. You can return again on the yellow trail or descend steeply directly down the ski slope.
