Your excursion starts at the restaurant parking lot, where you will return after 2/3 hours depending on the stops you decide to make.

The first part of the route involves a descent that will take you within 7/8 minutes to a sulfur water spring, also called "rotten water." You will soon understand the reason for this name!

After this first point, continue your route which is now uphill, until you reach (after about 25/30 minutes from the start) the paved road. From here, go quickly to the right, discovering the small village of Legoreccio.

Soon you will find the ancient customs house (all information about the points of interest within the village is contained in the route "Historical and Cultural Route between Legoreccio and Crovara").

Taking the steps just before the customs house, you can walk the small streets inside the village that will lead you uphill, until the point where the path begins that will take you to discover the sacrificial altar of Mount Lulseto.

Indeed, when you reach the top, where this comfortably drivable road ends, going right you will find the CAI marked trail which after a few minutes' walk via an arrow on a pole will indicate a detour to the left from the main road to reach the altar of Mount Lulseto.
A sign will tell you the importance of this place that takes us back to prehistory with ancient cults and fertility rites.

The advice in this magical place is to take some time for a small rest enjoying the uniqueness and history of this finding.

After the break, take back the path traveled to return to the starting point, where the drivable road ended: this time we do not go to the right but to the left, on a small uphill trail that will lead us to our beautiful natural "panoramic terrace."

From here the view is truly remarkable: you can see the Parmesan mountains, the municipalities of Casina, Castelnuovo and Canossa, all the villages of the valley and especially your starting and finishing point, Casalecchio.

The view is breathtaking and the peace really perceptible in the air.
After a nice break, back on our path, on trails that seem suspended in another era.

When you arrive at a fork where the road continues straight or goes to the left downhill, take the left downhill road that will gradually bring you back to the village of Legoreccio.

Immersed in peace, let yourself be fascinated by nature.

Beneath your feet you can clearly notice the remains of what many studies indicate as an ancient Roman road, which connected Enza and Secchia and passed from Buvolo to Rosano. It was a very important road as it connected Parma to Lucca.

The downhill road will bring you to an old building that used to serve as an oratory and small chapel, as its shape suggests (see above, refer to the historical route for further details)

At this point, most of the route is done and all that remains is to return to the starting point via a small stretch of paved municipal road.

We are already waiting to refresh you after the effort!

We hope you enjoy this beautiful excursion, tell us how it goes!
