The so-called "panorama walk" is a leisurely downhill mountain hike connecting ten of the most beautiful viewpoints in Lausanne.
The starting point is Parc de Sauvabelin, a popular local recreation area just outside the city, more precisely: above the city. A small lake, a zoo, and then this beautiful wooden observation tower: the Tour de Sauvabelin is 35 meters high and offers a view of the city and far across Lake Geneva. The next highlight of the easy and continuously downhill hike is Hermitage Park, which also houses the Fondation de l’Hermitage, an art museum. Through the Cité Hill, you quickly reach the city where you can climb the 224 steps to the bell tower of the cathedral. As from the Sauvabelin Tower, there is also a great view from there over the rooftops of the city to Lake Geneva. A bridge leads over the Flon district, then it goes over Montbenon Park and via Collège du Belvédère to Languedoc Hill with a small vineyard. The last highlight is then Montriond Hill, which you reach after an individual walk through the Botanical Garden.
