Panorama trail around the Ravensburg
A landmark of the "land of 1000 hills" is circled on this hike. The well-preserved and widely visible Ravensburg castle amidst vineyards is a showcase of the Kraichgau region. A number of cozy seasonal wine taverns ensure a cheerful conclusion to the hike around Sulzfeld and the impressive castle.
From Sulzfeld station, we follow the Su1 hiking trail marking out of town on Bahnhofstraße. We leave the roundabout onto Heinrich-Blanc-Straße, which leads us 75 m further to the left after a left-right bend into the fields. At the mighty pear tree, we continue straight and turn left at the next junction. At the top of Schoppberg, we are rewarded with a wide panoramic view over the southern Kraichgau. On the left, we see for the first time the Ravensburg, our destination today. Downhill, we leave an agricultural hall to the left and hike back up to the Hägenich forest, where we turn left. At the edge of the forest, we keep left again, walk around the berry plantation on the right and then turn left again behind it in the orchard meadow. Albrecht Ritter
