The great path to the best viewpoint passes the beautiful forest pond Seewoog and the bubbling Leinbach spring.

Bring food and drinks with you because at the stone table directly in front of a rock or at the highlight of the route you can relax and take a break while enjoying the great view. From here, the route continues, and anyone who wants can make a detour to the Mittelborner Valley to the "Schreiner Brunnen".

You will also enjoy a wonderful view of the village center of Waldleiningen.

    Author’s recommendation

Take enough provisions with you so that you can rest at the viewpoint.

    Safety information

WATCH OUT! - Campaign for respectful coexistence in nature

    • Fire & smoking - Making fires, smoking, and barbecuing are strictly forbidden in the forest and must absolutely be avoided! Fires and thus serious damage to nature and wildlife can only be prevented this way.
    • Be considerate when out and about - Always behave thoughtfully, kindly, and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way.
    • Nature conservation - Stay on designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are out in nature. Leave the forest by dusk at the latest to avoid disturbing the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
    • Picnic & waste - Remember a rubbish bag for the trip and take waste back home with you. Use only the furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
    • Leash dogs - Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

    Roadbook

The starting point is the bus stop on the main street with an aerial photo of the hiking trail. We follow the marking P along the main street towards the Leinbach valley. There we reach a small parking lot and then go right to the cemetery. At the end of the cemetery, we leave the street and follow the narrow path steeply up to the Leinhöfer Hill on the right.

Once at the top, the trail mostly runs along the transition area to the properties on the main street. After a short distance, we reach a bench with a view of the village center (possibly the church and the community hall). About 100 meters further, there is a sheep barn on the right. Here the view goes to the Schlossberg in Lauterstraße as well as to the catholic church. We take a slight left curve downhill to the next junction. Here we keep right and soon reach Elmsteiner Street in the village. We turn left into Elmsteiner Street and follow it to number 29, where we turn right into the forest. At the next opportunity, turn right into a forest path and after a few steps again right onto a trail. When we see the first houses below on the slope, we must soon go sharply left uphill. Arriving at the cross path, we keep right and after 100 meters reach a clearing with a view into the village. Following the path we pass the water reservoir and turn right a few steps further. On the following descent (short section of the mountain bike route) we cross the L504 (Ritterstein "Seewoog"). We are at the forest pond Seewoog - at the Leinbach spring. A bench and a stone table right in front of a rock invite you to rest. From here, you can make a detour to the Mittelborner Valley to the "Schreiner Brunnen". Returning, the marking leads us just after the stone table up a few steps to a path in the Haselrain.

We continue right on the reached path and after a short time have a wonderful view over the village center above Haselrainstraße. Following the path we reach Leinhöfer Valley, keep right and after 100 meters are at the first houses. We cross K 47. Next to a small pumping station, there is a sign "Panoramic view 200 m". The panoramic plateau is the highlight of the hike. The hiker is rewarded with the best view of Waldleiningen. The seating area is a good place to linger. From here you can reach the starting point again in a few minutes.
