Over the lookout hill – opposite the Bastei – and many stairs down into the Elbe valley.
Already from Weißig we see the Rauenstein, our first destination. A whole series of steps takes us up the mountain. The view of the Bastei area, the Lilienstein and the Königstein Fortress is among the most beautiful. We follow the ridge path with continuous ups and downs. The descent ends in Pötzscha, the left bank part of the town Wehlen. Slightly above our path lies the house and museum of the painter Robert Sterl. On the ascent we reach Naundorf on the flat terrain. Our "M" now leads directly along the Elbe edge to the Königsnase near Obervogelgesang. About halfway we reach a huge windfall, which makes the path difficult. It may be possible to detour onto the field edge.A beautiful deep view, then we descend almost one hundred meters into the Elbe valley. On the Elbe cycle path we reach the outskirts of Pirna. Through the railway underpass and a short stretch upstream we use the Canaletto path. It leads under the Sonnenstein Fortress to Pirna. A tour through the historic old town
