From Tann, we go through fields and beech forests to the high plateau above the Ulster Valley. Here we find a landscape dominated by blooming meadows that allow wide views. The variant to the rocky ledge on the Roßberg promises magnificent long-distance views, but the main path also repeatedly opens up the panorama of the western Rhön.
From the parking lot in Tann, we go down Kleine Marktstraße to the market square. There, we follow the main street down and orient ourselves by the "Hochrhöner" marking (orange "Ö"). At the church, we turn right and immediately left again, passing the cemetery. Behind it, we go left up to the signpost and now follow the white "2" on a blue background (signage: "Theobaldshof 3.9 km"). At the next fork, we keep left (signage: "Am Mühlberg"). Soon we have our first view of Habelberg and towards the cone of Rockenstuhl. The asphalt path meets a cross path, which we follow down to the left (marking possibly overgrown). Immediately after, we turn sharply right (marking: "2"). The asphalt eventually changes to gravel, we cross a stream, and at the fork behind, we keep right. The marked path steadily rises through fields and a forest with large old cherry trees. At a country road, we turn right uphill towards Theobaldshof. In the village, we turn into the first side street on the left,
