On the ramparts of Wissembourg
The construction in the 7th century of the Saints Peter and Paul Abbey allowed the birth and then the prosperity of Wissembourg. To defend itself, the town was surrounded by fortifications and 4 castles.
If only one of the four castles remains, the St Paul castle, north of the town in the vineyard, the abbey and the fortifications are still visible around the historic town.
