Route course: Stara Sava – Murova – Pejce – Prihodi – Planina pod Golico – Savske Jame
The Old Ore Route is the path along which iron ore was once transported from Savske Jame, a former iron ore deposit, to the blast furnaces at Stara Sava. It is enriched by ten informational panels describing the lives of miners and ironworkers.

Points of interest along the route: Stara Sava museum area, Upper Sava Museum (Slovenian Ironworks Museum, Jesenice Museum of Working Culture), Kosovo Mansion, the oldest part of the town – Murova, chapels of St. Barbara at Pejce, Church of the Holy Cross, iron deposit at Savske Jame, narcissus meadows
Take a snack and sufficient water with you, especially in the summer months.
The Old Ore Route can be visited independently or with a tourist guide. It is also suitable for visits by larger groups. With advance notice, historical characters ironworker Viktor, miner Tona, and mine manager Heinrich will welcome you during your visit to the route at Savske Jame.
