Öchsle hike

From the Öchsle station Warthausen, we walk along the parking access road southwards along the DB line Ulm-Friedrichshafen. At the Öchsle locomotive shed area, we cross the Öchsle tracks at the crossing. Immediately after the bridge, to the right behind the bushes stands the new Öchsle locomotive shed. At the end of it, we turn left; on the gravel path we reach Hubertus-Liebrecht-Straße. After a few meters, the foot/cycle path begins, which leads between the industrial facilities to the Biber Center. We walk along the access road towards Biberach; after about 50 m a footpath to the left offers the possibility to cross the main road. We take the Hubertusweg, which is closed to general traffic, past the Pater-Agnellus-Schneider animal shelter. Then begins the splendid ravine path to Mettenberg.
We follow the main road to the left, turn into Treutweg, enter Vordere Au and follow the footpath between buildings 11 and 13. Behind the buildings to the right to the chapel, here left along the edge of the village, on the gravel path left, shortly after that right following the asphalt path to the B 30 underpass. Here we join the Jakobusweg. Along the forest edge, then in the forest keeping left. At the hiking car park, we cross the Biberach-Maselheim country road and go in a wide arc through the forest. An inconspicuous forest path leads to the right out to the forest edge, along this until a path branches off left to the Hofgut Könighofen estate. Here immediately left, the path leads us to Laupertshausen. Past the church, we first go along Ellmansweilerstraße, then straight up the hill to the sports field. Follow the small road, cross the district road and go through fields and forests, past Sperberkreuz, down into the Schnaitbach valley. Downstream we reach Dürnachtal, cross the Dürnach bridge and walk up the valley slope. At the top, we head towards Wennedach, immediately left after the underpass, now we see between the trees the signalman's house at the Wennedach stop.
