Besides the western Seiser Alm cable car to the Kompatsch hotel village, the small cabin lift from the north, from St. Ulrich in Gröden to Monte Seuc, is the main feeder to the largest high-alpine pasture in Europe. For those who want not only to look but also to do something up there, the southern descent to the hotels in Saltria at the lowest point of the plateau is recommended. Continuing via the Ritsch Schwaige and the beautifully located Contrin Schwaige back to the starting point creates an entertaining, scenically superb loop through the northern part of the Seiser Alm with impressive views of the rock castles of the Langkofel and Schlern.
From St. Ulrich, we take the St. Ulrich – Seiser Alm cable car up to the mountain station at Monte Seuc. Then we follow the forest and meadow natural road (path no. 9) descending southwards in a wide right curve to the Seiser Alm plateau and from there to the Schgaguler Schwaige. We follow an asphalt road a short way south, then go left (east) down to the Sporthotel Sonne, 1857 m, with the base station of the Seggiovia Al Sole. We follow meadow path no. 9 southwards down to the Pitzbach stream, which we cross on a wooden bridge. On the other side, it goes briefly steeper up onto a meadow plateau and then past the moor biotope »Col dal Fil«, gently uphill to the meadow saddle, 1847 m, between Wolfsbühl and »Col dal Fil« with a crossing gravel road. Beyond, we walk on path no. 9 through meadows, then right along a line of trees down towards the Jendertal (south) into the Saltria basin, 1680 m, in the center of Seiser Alm with hotel village and alpine bus stop (line 11) Kompatsch –
